Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadly cancers that patients die within 6-12 months after diagnosis. Due to the deep position of pancreas, pancreatic cancer patients were almost all at late stage at time of diagnosis. This situation made surgery impossible. Two new studies by sequencing different clones of pancreatic cancer tissues found that patients could have their primary cancers for more than 10 years before having metastasis, suggesting that there is a hope for early diagnosis, even prevention of pancreatic cancer.
